The second year of Conflict Minerals RCOI due diligence is closed. Europe is adopting a broader conflict minerals obligations that will apply to importers. Moreover, in the near future the NAM v. SEC rehearing will likely result in the long awaited opinion resolving the uncertainty associated with the United States conflict minerals rules. This decision will of course arrive just as the undeterminable origin classification under conflict minerals expires.

Conflict minerals is the latest variation of a new form of supply chain transparency initiative that is fundamentally shifting the requirements to produce and manufacture products in the global economy.
